‘I wasn’t attacked by my constituents… I’m not against Buhari’ – Senator

Senator Isah Hammah Misua, on Friday, denied media reports that he was attacked by members of his constituency for his support for embattled Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

Misua, who represents Bauchi Central Senatorial District, stated that the reports published by popular online news-outlet, SaharaReporters, was a false representation of what happened on 16th and 17th of April, 2016.

This was contained in a statement signed by his media aide, Temitope Salami, who noted that the senator was still a loyal member of the ruling All Progressives Congress.

“The news rapidly gaining attention in the media about a purported incidence at Ningi local government area, Bauchi State, while he was on a routine consultation exercise with party leaders and constituents in Bauchi Central Senatorial District.”

“While it is true that Senator Isah Misau did visit Ningi as part of his constituency activities over the weekend, there was no incidence of violence against the Distinguished Senator as fictitiously reported by Sahara Reporters who alleged that he was stoned by his constituents. It simply did not happen, Sahara Reporters lied.”

“It is therefore necessary to set the records straight by giving a bit by bit account of the Senator’s activities in Bauchi Central Senatorial District on the 16th and 17th of April, 2016.”

“On Saturday 16th April 2016, the Senator and his entourage arrived Ningi Local Government Area at 1:00pm in the afternoon, while at Ningi he held meetings with party officials from 11 wards, community leaders, elders, women groups, youth groups and all stakeholders. In total, he met with over 600 people and quite naturally there was a teeming crowd of supporters to receive him. The Senator left Ningi at 4:30pm in what was a very successful visit.”

“He proceeded to Warji Local Government Areaa where her arrived at 5:30pm and had interactive sessions with stakeholders which was equally productive. He left at 7:00pm for Ganjuwa Local Government where he arrived at 8:00pm and met with leaders till about 11:45pm.”

“The premise upon which the story was based is fallacious. Let it be made abundantly clear, Senator Isah Misau is a supporter of President Buhari; he is not against Mr. President. The Senator remains a loyal member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).”
