The Lagos state police command, on Thursday, disclosed that it has began a full scale investigation into the #SaveMayowa controversy

According to a press statement by the Lagos state police, the state Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, has ordered for a full investigation into the issue and that the bank account where the said monies were paid in has been placed on red alert.

The police further disclosed that there is an ongoing effort to contact the managers of the GoFundMe to ensure that money paid in there isn’t diverted.

The statement reads, “The Lagos State commissioner of police Cp Fatai Owoseni has directed full scale investigation into the report that the *SAVE MAYOWA CAMPAIGN* is a fraud.

Investigation will be extended to LUTH hospital Idi-Araba where the patient is currently  undergoing treatment.

“The command wishes to inform all the good spirited people who had donated generously to this course that it will ensure it does not return”

Meanwhile the founder of the LifeStake foundation, Aramide Kashamu, in this video explained the role of her foundation in the raging controversy.
