Sean Spicer, who has been serving in a dual role for President Donald Trump as White House press secretary and communications director, abruptly resigned Friday morning after Trump chose Anthony Scaramucci as the new communications director, a White House official said, according to New York Times.
New York Times reports Spicer to have vehemently disagreed against Scaramucci as a pick for the position and told Trump that he believed the appointment was a major mistake.
