‘I’m strong in spirit, I’m toughened’ | Dokpesi speaks on his experience with EFCC

Agents of the Ecconomic and Financial Crimes Commission raided Chairman of Daar Communications, Raymond Dokpesi’s home in Abuja on Wednesday, December 2.

The raid was carried out in connection to the alleged $2.1 billion arms deal scandal in which Dokpesi is allegedly connected to.

Dokpesi has been under intense interrogation by the agency since he arrested on Tuesday, December 1.

The search reportedly lasted over one hour.

Speaking on the whole saga to the press, Dokpesi said: “It’s a change of environment. It’s quite peaceful, quite okay.

I was granted bail yesterday (Tuesday December 1st) where they asked me to get two directors of the Federal government arm to also deposit my passport but my lawyer was not available and I said that I was not going to sign but then I think what they said was the allegation was alleged conspiracy, money laundering and misappropriation of public funds.”

But I am a loyal Nigerian citizen, a patriotic Nigerian citizen. I have no problem like I said. I am strong in spirit. I am toughened.”
