‘Senate to receive updated ambassadorial nominees list’

The Presidency has said an updated list of non-career ambassadorial nominees from President Muhammadu Buhari will soon be submitted to the Senate, Punch reports.

The Senate had rejected the list stating that there were over 250 petitions against the nominees.

According to the newspaper, the new list will have inputs from state governors under the umbrella of the All Progressives Congress who had earlier complained of neglect.

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina confirmed that the list will be reworked and submitted to the Senate soon.

“The (non-career ambassadorial nominees) list will be worked on, and communicated to the Senate as soon as possible,” he said.

Two of the nominees, Paulen Tallen and Usman Bugaje had earlier rejected their nominations, citing the failure of the presidency to inform them beforehand.
