Singer, Seyi Shay has decided to float her own record label.
After the launch of her Seyi or Shay album, fans noticed it was released under Stargurl Ltd and it got people talking.
Prior to this, Seyi was not under a record label as she was being managed by JM Management.
In a brief chat with YNaija at her album listening session at the Eko Hotel and Suites on Friday night, the former girl-group star cleared the air on the issue as she confirmed that Stargurl belongs to her.
She said: “Stargurl Limited is my record label that I co-own with a silent partner and basically I am the first project out of Stargurl”.
When pressed to reveal the identity of the mystery partner, she stated that her partner has decided to stay behind the scenes and pull the strings.
She said: “My partner chooses to stay silent and i’m the face of the label. The label is named by me”.
On what to expect from her new record label she said: “Expect more artistes next year, songwriters and a producer”.
On her favourite song on her album she said: “I don’t have a favourite song but one song I really like to perform is Right Now.
