Rave designer, Ituen Basi, graces the cover of the next edition of the lifestyle magazine, Genevieve. In an edition titled ‘I am now coming Full circle…’, the magazine chronicles Ituen Basi, her eponymous garment outfit and her plight in starting off in the country.
“After over 20 years designing bridal wears in the UK, Ituen Bassey returned to Nigeria in 2008 to build her label, Ituen Basi, working with African prints and helping to mentor a new generation of fashion designers. In spite of initial challenges, her label stands out in the garment industry, earning appreciation and awards for its fun, elegant and individualistic styles. But Ituen has been much more than a designer. Having been a teacher, preacher, couturier and stage production director, she says her life has been deeply enriched by her many different experiences and expressions. “It has all come together…you know, the missing link,” she says in an interview
