President Muhammadu Buhari has sacked the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal and Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Amb Ayodele Oke.
Background:
- Buhari had suspended Lawal over alleged fraud in the North-East contracts.
- The President also suspended NIA DG, Ayo Oke over claims on $43m found in an apartment in Ikoyi.
- Buhari inaugurated a committee, headed by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to investigate the allegations against them.
- The committee had submitted its findings without much action taken by the Presidency.
What is happening:
The Presidency said Buhari has terminated the appointment of both Lawal and Oke.
