Why South-east lost the Senate Presidency – Okorocha

Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha has revealed that several politicians, who contested under the All Progressives Congress in the South-east, were denied victory during the last general elections.

Okorocha, said the South-east would have gotten either the position of Senate president or Speaker of the House of Representatives, if it had produced senators and members of the House of Representatives under the APC.

Okorocha, disclosed this on Wednesday after arriving from Turkey.

“APC is a great party, it is a big family.  The Igbo people are also of the APC and I represent the face of that very strong movement from South-east. What is important is what the people can get from the federal government to develop the zone.
“We can develop the resources of our land and make the place better with or without politics. Emphasis should not be more on politics but on development of resources.”
“If oil dries up, what will our people do?  This makes it imperative to look for alternatives now”.
