“F__k the bad comments” | We interviewed Bobrisky today, and he had a lot to say (WATCH)

Today at the Enough Is Enough New Media, Citizens and Governance Conference, our correspondent, Chukwukere Okpani  caught up with controversial cross-dresser and beauty entrepreneur, Idris Okuneye (Bobrisky) after the panel discussion and got to pick his brain.

Enjoy the discussion below:

How did you react to the uproar on Twitter following your inclusion on the panel?

When I got the invite, I was very pleased, because I was chosen amongst many. But at a point, I noticed different things happening on the internet ‘why did they have to pick Bobrisky, what has he done?’ ‘All Bobrisky has: it’s all about cream and Snapchat’ But they don’t have the full idea of what I want to do.

At some point I felt reluctant to be here, so I called the organiser, sent an email saying: “call me please because I am weighed down I should not have to come here because of these bad comments”.
But the guy spoke to me and said “Bobrisky you have to be here”.

And I got so happy. I was ‘gingered’.

What was your most enjoyable part of the session?

The fact that I spoke all my mind in the little way I can.
I love the fact they actually recognised Bobrisky to come here; I am just happy,  I don’t care about the bad comments. F**K the bad comments.

Did you feel the audience understood you?

Yes, because I was able to interprete in my own way,  what Bobrisky is.

Bobrisky is not just about what you see on Snapchat -that he’s just having fun – Bobrisky has somewhere he is going to, he has a future for himself and he has what he wants to do.
Even the sites. I have plans for them.

We are having employment issues, I have 3 stores, I employ people to work for me and I’m paying salaries – I am doing part of the employment in the society.

I plan on getting a store in Lekki because most of my clients are in Lekki and even though I have a delivery service, some of them want to see you physically.

Where do you have your largest clientele?

My largest is in London, Germany and even U.S… but London is the largest.

I deliver up to 10 packs of cream to London daily and 1 pack is NGN 100,000.

So how much do gross monthly?

I gross over NGN 2 million, sometimes NGN 1.5 million  monthly.

And how much of this is your profit?
300k – 400,000 monthly.
