Stella Damasus blasts Ghanaian filmmaker for comparing ‘Nollywood’ to ‘Adolf Hitler’ (WATCH)

Trouble definitely loomed for Ghanaian filmmaker, Leila Djansi, when she made some comments about the Nigerian movie industry in an interview many have regarded as derogatory.

In the 2015 interview which was released online by Tns.ng, she was quoted as comparing Nollywood to the late German dictator, Adolf Hitler.

She said: “I don’t think those people, this new crop of film industry people be put under the umbrella of Nollywood, they should be called independent film because a name carries a lot. If you start tagging it Nollywood, every negative connotation that comes with Nollywood…it’s like calling your son Hitler.”

As expected, the filmmaker’s comments have been met with series of backlash from her colleagues.

The most prominent of the criticism directed her way- is from her Nigerian counterpart, Stella Damasus.

The Nollywood veteran released a video via youtube, telling the Ghanaian to ‘get her facts right’ before making such comments.

Watch Damasus’ clapback against Djansi.
