Tambuwal meets with Shagari, reveals plans for education sector in Sokoto (PHOTOS)

Sokoto state Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal met with with former President Shehu Shagari on Wednesday, when he revealed that his government would build special estates, known as teachers’ villages as from next year.

Tambuwal, recently declared a State of Emergency in the education sector in Sokoto, assured Shagari that he’s taking the issue of teacher training seriously, owing to their importance to the success of his administration’s education policy.

“Any teacher that fails to meet our requirement will be re-posted to other parts of the public service where his competence will be more needed. Let me make it clear that we will not sack any teacher from government service.

“But where he fails to meet the expectation in our schools, we will have other areas where his service will be needed and we will send the person there accordingly,” Tambuwal said.
