Potiskum town in Yobe state has been place under 24 hours curfew by the military Joint Task Force (JTF), with no specific reasons given.

The curfew was announced on Monday night but it was learnt that the decision must have been influenced by an information on security alert given to the JTF on the activities of the Boko Haram Islamic groups.

Yobe state is one of the state under an emergency rule declared by the federal government over the incessant orgy of violence perpetrated by Boko Haram.
