Ekiti APC suspends Segun Oni for alleged anti-party activities

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended the former Ekiti state governor, Segun Oni for alleged involvement in anti-party activities. The Ekiti State chapter of the party gave the suspension order in a letter dated 1st May, 2019 and addressed to Oni.

The governor of Imo, Rochas Okorocha, has said the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is setting a bad precedent by withholding his certificate of return after he had been declared winner of the Imo west senatorial election.

In a petition he filed at the commission’s head office, Okorocha advised Mahmood Yakubu, INEC chairman, not to reduce the commission to “a willing tool in the hands of political manipulators”.

Obaseki denies discord with APC chieftain, Oshiomhole

Gov. Godwin Obaseki of Edo said on Wednesday there was no rift between him and his predecessor in office, Mr Adams Oshiomhole, current National Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The letter was signed by the chairman and secretary of Ifaki ward II, Shina Akinloye and Ogunyemi Taiwo respectively and 24 other executive members in the ward.

Three persons, 319 cattle killed in fresh plateau violence

The police in Plateau have confirmed the killing of three persons and 319 cattle in separate attacks on some villages in Bassa Local Government Area. According to the state police spokesperson, Tyopev Terna, the killing of the cattle occurred in Billi and Ariri Districts

Lalong approves N30,000 wage for Plateau workers

Plateau state governor Simon Lalong has approved the N30, 000 national minimum wage for the state workforce. Lalong dropped the cheering news while addressing workers during the Labor Day celebration at Rwang Pam Township stadium Jos on Wednesday.
