FEC approves 9.2billion for model schools, antiretroviral drugs, others

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) Thursday approved N9.2 billion for the construction of seven model schools and supply of antiretroviral drugs to persons living with HIV/AIDS across Nigeria.

The Information Minister, Lai Mohammed, who briefed State House correspondents at the end of the meeting, said N4.6 billion was approved for the construction of seven new model schools, one in each of the six geopolitical zones and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Ogunlewe dumps PDP, joins APC

A chieftain of the PDP, Sen. Adeseye Ogunlewe, said on Friday that he was set to dump the opposition party for the ruling APC. Ogunlewe, a former Minister of Works, confirmed the development in an interview with a political correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos. He was reacting to the recent defection of his son, Moyosore from the PDP to the APC.

About four persons have been reportedly killed as suspected herdsmen and farmers clashed in Iwoye area of Imeko-Afon Local Government Area of Ogun State, southwest Nigeria. Mohammed Momoh, the Lagos state coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), says the body is looking up to the federal government to release a circular for the implementation of the newly approved minimum wage with respect to corps members.

Momoh made this known while speaking to TheCable about the expected wage increase for corps members.
