They came they saw and they were Amplified!
The winners of the 6th season of Big Brother Africa were revealed in a sensational finale which kicked off powerfully with Nigeria’s youngest and finest, WizKid and Mo’Cheddah performing ‘Holla at Your Boy’ and ‘Ko Ma Roll’. The host of the show IK Osakioduwa then stepped into the house for a few minutes to chat with the finalists, after which viewers were treated to the favourite moments of the Amplified season.
Amplified Crew, the vibrant dancers who we have seen in every eviction show, hopped onto the stage with a thrilling routine, and then viewers heard Vimbai, Kim & Millicent – who were evicted last week – talk about their experiences on the show. Afterwards, two viewers from the BBA ‘Fan Pub’, Soldier and Tebogo, got the chance to to tell co-host of the show, Dineo Moeketsi of Channel O, about their favourite housemates and moments in the house. Tanzanian artiste CPWAA then gave a performance of his hit ‘Pwaa/Action’.
After a short break, IK crossed over to the house – one housemate had to be evicted, and alas, Nigeria’s Vina was it! On seeing a group of her family and friends Vina broke down and collapsed on stage, laughing and crying at the same time. Soon after, soft-spoken Ethiopian singer Hanni joined Vina, as she too was evicted.
And then we heard Biggie’s almighty voice:
‘Housemates you have thirty seconds to leave the house.’
Karen, Lomwe, Luclay, Sharon O and Wendall were ordered out of the place they had called home for 90 days, and expectedly they all seemed excited. While the final four got their act together, South Africa’s Speedy & Professor hit the stage to perform their current hit ‘Lento’ and as soon as they were done, IK welcomed them on stage, interviewing them and showing their highlights.
Next, Sharon O and Lomwe were evicted, with another dance performance from The Amplified Crew in between. Afro pop Fally Ipupa treated the crowd – and indeed Africa – to an electric performance of his song, ‘Sexy Dance’.
To the surprise of viewers, South African Luclay was evicted, leaving Wendall Parson and Karen who did not know that they were both already winners. IK wasted no time in breaking the news to the two who broke into screams and a dance. Lights flashed and golden confetti filled the air while fans and housemates jumped on stage to congratulate the two.
We are Amped! A thrilling end to a thrilling show!
