Matthew Durham, an American teenager has confessed to raping young girls and sexually molesting boys while making other children watch during a mission trip to Kenya.

19-year-old Durham could be handed a life sentence after for the acts he committed when he travelled to Kenya with a Charity organisation, Upendo to volunteer at a Kenyan children’s home.

On his last visit to the area, he asked to stay at the children’s home instead of an offsite facility, which gave him the perfect opportunity to carry out the crimes. The victims revealed that he regularly touched them inappropriately them and/or told them to touch themselves while he watched.

Sanford Coats, a United States Attorney says, “A caretaker at the orphanage noticed something wasn’t right and confronted Mr. Durham. He admitted to some of the acts. The victims are believed to be both boys and girls between the ages of four and nine, at least one of whom is HIV positive.”

Durham, who is currently being held without bond. is expected to account for his crimes in Oklahoma, in spite of the fact that crimes were committed overseas.
