Since last year, Nigeria has been in a recession, and one of the hardest hit areas has been employment. Graduates are plentiful but the jobs are scarce. So scarce in fact, that one has to resort to creative methods to land a great job.
Yes, this method has been debated to death, but this is proof that it works.
Listen to Dr Joe Abah:
Unemployed and seeking employment, let me tell you a story. In my former job, a childhood friend referred a young lady to me.

First job post MBA was an 'internship' with Bismarck Rewane's FDC. Forever grateful. Anytime in Nigeria I pay a visit to say thank you.

Years ago, I started as an intern at a place without Pay. After sometime I started receiving half the salaries of others. Sometime later (1)

I was earning the same thing as others, later I earned more than them. The process might appear unfair at the onset but it has its benefits

For those who remember when I shared, this is strikingly similar to my story. From 'interning', I've been here 14 yrs. Read & be inspired. ? https://t.co/yWfomzvuh7

When you're given a place to stand on, 'stand' so well that they can no longer move you.Grace is needed too. Godspeed. We'll read your story https://t.co/yWfomzvuh7

There’s a catch
great thread. Doc I interned in a field for over four years and now I've got my dream job but I still need a job for survival.

Good story but there are so few people that can afford to do this. https://t.co/RU5yqdf5VB

I get the point of the thread and it's a good one but a system where master degree holders have to resort to this is a failed system.

And like u said sir she was referred by a friend. How about those who don't have friends in positions of influence?
— Jesse Onoriode (@jexsz) August 4, 2017
There are people who have done same and were not this fortunate. Not all internships turn out this way.

If you are waiting to start it big you might wait forever..Having Msc and PhD does not give you room to start big. Start somehow and grow
