— EFCC Nigeria (@officialEFCC) April 12, 2017
The anti-graft commission (Economic Financial Crime and Commission), discovered another massive loot in various currencies: $43.4m, £27,800 and N23.2m. The apartment where this cash was stash is believed to belong to Ex PDP Chair, Adamu Mu’azu, although he has blatantly denied the allegations.
Nigerians are excited at yet another find by the EFCC, which was made possible thanks to the operations of a whistleblower. Others think this is yet another media trial, which will not result in a conviction.

Well, Magu is not going anywhere, and EFCC is on steroids. ☕️? pic.twitter.com/0xicZfO7DJ
— Dr. Aminu Gamawa (@aminugamawa) April 12, 2017
Please can they put Magu in charge of finding #ChibokGirls temporarily? The way EFCC is discovering money…we can't waste this talent
— Babasola Kuti (@SKSolaKuti) April 13, 2017
EFCC just found dollars in Lagos. It's like we're just doing hide and seek with dollars in this Country.

Drama Commission
https://twitter.com/Sisi_Eko15/status/852229536322396166
EFCC has now become a drama commission, which is very predictable like Nollywood Movies, you can guess the AMOUNT they will recover next. LOL
— Oluyemi Fasipe ?? (@YemieFASH) April 12, 2017
Who exactly is accountable for these EFCC recovered funds? because the last time I checked Magu doesn't even know how much they've recovered pic.twitter.com/CtCFuY18LD

EFCC is set to distract us again with the discovery of $38m, £27,000 & N23m in an Ikoyi Apartment.
Let the distraction continue. I love it. pic.twitter.com/2B9g4Nxzmf

Due diligence, please.
EFCC has come again with their money photoshoot and twitter fingers. We want well-prepared cases that lead to conviction abeg
— Abike (@Jollz) April 12, 2017
efcc as a whole is a shady organization. we only get amounts that will give us headache, discovery location & not names. GIVE US NAMES.
— JJ (@juiciestofjays) April 12, 2017
EFCC has been discovering money from ghosts lately
No names
No need for prosecutionJust figures !! https://t.co/iNtnpBHq5Y
— IKECHUKWU (@iykimo) April 12, 2017
The EFCC of today rather count cash than put criminals behind bars.
— Portrait Artist (@badt_BOI_) April 12, 2017
In other climes, the @efcc should be giving us hourly updates like whose residence was the crime scene? pic.twitter.com/issgQ1JAOO

All this money that EFCC is finding they will still steal it again and the cycle continues……PDP = APC

My future occupation goals
When I grow up, I want to be a whistleblower. That shit seems to be lucrative right now.

Learn the difference
Nigerians seem to conflate 'a lot of money' & 'illegally gotten money' like there is some threshold amount that's too much to be legal

Why does the EFCC lose cases?
I need someone to please educate me…
Why is it so hard for the EFCC to secure convictions in the face of supposedly condemning evidence?
— The [email protected] (@WoleOdeleye) April 13, 2017
Because I'm sure financial crimes are supposed to be among the easiest to convict due to paper trails.

Welcome… When you get genuine answers, pls Cc me…
— Olashile Abayomi (@FireOFola) April 13, 2017
the judicial system is just as rotten as those stealing in the first place. Cases are delayed till they are forgotten.
— Därl (@quagmire55) April 13, 2017
I am suspecting their prosecutors are selling cases.
— yemo (@Yemmey_) April 13, 2017
The Judiciary is to blame
We keep blaming @officialEFCC for not winning cases. I am sure they deserve some of that. But the courts, are they fighting corruption too?
— JJ. Omojuwa (@Omojuwa) April 12, 2017
Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.
'Their Overlord told dem d Judiciary's duty is to fight corruption. He also told them an oil well goes for $500Billion.
'Go bring am come' pic.twitter.com/eCNieuLVpR
— Baṣọ̀run Gáà (@Oddy4real) April 13, 2017
Interestingly, EFCC lose most of its cases on procedural grounds, not want of evidence. The evidence should attract indignation.
— Kemi (@Caulcrick_) April 13, 2017
Sincerely i don't see EFCC winning any of this cases, with 10% of all the stolen money, the whole judiciary system is under their control
— Bolu (@MisterAdeosun) April 13, 2017
Even the external prosecutors sometimes know that the investigation report and evidence can't sustain the charges.
— Declan Ekenna (@chiedoziedeclan) April 13, 2017
They employ people with no flair for litigation and no practice experience and hand them over the file to prosecute
— Declan Ekenna (@chiedoziedeclan) April 13, 2017
Efcc does not even investigate most times, which is their primary duty. They prepare charges on empty confessional statements.
— Declan Ekenna (@chiedoziedeclan) April 13, 2017
The truth is most Nigerians blind by APC believe that once Efcc carry their media trial, you are guilty.
— Declan Ekenna (@chiedoziedeclan) April 13, 2017
Whenever Ibrahim Magu wants to impress Buhari , the EFCC will suddenly discover $ at an airport or Ikoyi yet he can't win a case in court
— Comr Torbah Ben (@torbah_ben) April 13, 2017
I think the number one mistake EFCC makes is drawing great attention to their investigations. Makes it easier to conceal facts.
— Eustache Dauger (@Punthief) April 13, 2017
This photo ops and rush to social media to tell us what they are doing isn't right. It works against them.
— Eustache Dauger (@Punthief) April 13, 2017
To be honest it works for many Nigerians who love the show. In the absence of convictions in a court of law they'll take what they can get
— Maduoma™ (@MaduomaN) April 13, 2017
I think EFCC needs to upgrade on their team. Solid undisputable investigation backed by solid lawyers so that conviction will be the norm
— The OverLord Queen Herself (@Topsyken) April 13, 2017
Well said.
where have all the discovered monies from the EFCC been? Are the EFCC and the looters joint ventured
