It’s been 40 days since President Muhammadu Buhari left the shores of our country in order to attend to his failing health. Every attempt by the citizenry to question the status of the president’s health is met with a stoic “only the president can tell Nigerians what is wrong with him” or “the president’s health is improving; in fact, he speaks with Ag. President Osinbajo everyday”.
Nigerians are tired of the meandering and have begun to react with the hashtag #BuhariAbsenteePresident.
This is what Cheta Nwanze has to say about the issue:
I'm in total support of the #BuhariAbsenteePresident campaign. It's ridiculous that 7 years after Yar'Adua, we are still in the same mode.

His absence from his duty post for longer periods than actually sitting down to work is dereliction of duty #BuhariAbsenteePresident

Dereliction of duty, also covers the cabinet's and legislatures', failure to call him to account. #BuhariAbsenteePresident

Buhari's health status is a pertinent question we must continue to ask until we get answers.
