14 days after CNN broke the news of slave auctions taking place in Libya, President Buhari finally spoke up. It would appear that the president was waiting on other African Heads of state to comment on Libya’s barbaric act before giving his two cents on an important issue involving his nationals. President Buhari’s statement came in a day after the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo Addo, tweeted his condemnation of the slave auctions, and Twitter did not spare him any excuses.
See below:
Compare and contrast
The current slave auctions of Africans in Libya are not only gross and scandalous abuses of human rights, but are also mockeries of the alleged solidarity of African nations grouped in the African Union (AU), of which Libya is a member.

The situation in Libya, of people being sold into slavery, is appalling and unacceptable. We will do everything to protect our citizens wherever they might be.
— Muhammadu Buhari (@MBuhari) November 29, 2017
We have also started bringing back home all Nigerians stranded in Libya and elsewhere. We will ensure they all return home safely and are rehabilitated.

Here come the bulldogs
Finally, probably after a reaction after seeing the tweet of the president of Ghana.

Sorry sir. You’re late to the feast

Which citizens are you protecting?
The same ones fleeing from Nigeria to look of better pastures?
Your excellency, we are disappointed in this your smelly government. This isn't what we envisaged when we voted you into power.

Aha! A defender
Some people are just daft or outrightly clueless, this government have been airlifting Nigerians in Libya since the beginning of the Year without making noise. For once give this government some credit. Nigeria has deteriorated for so long not his fault

This is on you, Mr President
Remember that you callousness and lack of compassion for fellow citizens drove many away into the hands of deaths.
From male to female, young & old.
Surely! Every leader shall account before Allah how he has used d power, fame & wealth given to him 4d benefit of his followers.— AYANLOLA ABDULJELIL (@owolabitaiwo) November 29, 2017
Baba, I won't complain about the timing of your tweet.
I'm more concerned about you ensuring that the standard of living in Nigeria improves so that our people will not try to get to Europe through Libya or any of those dangerous and illegal routes in search of greener pastures.— Elochukwu (@CLINTONELOCHUK1) November 29, 2017
Here is why
But we see vidoes & pictures of Nigerians being sold as cattle and roasted alive in Libya, yet the government of Buhari did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
Is this the government Nigerians deserve?
Is this how to show leadership?
Does this show any iota of care for Nigerians?

We have an airforce, we have functional C130's.
Why did Buhari not authorise NAF to go into Libya and get Nigerians out even if whatever government remain in Libya chose not halt the sale & murder of Nigerians?
Is this how the C-in-C should behave?

Over to you, Mr President.
