According to the Dangote statement by Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina, Dangote Refinery claimed its petrol selling price was benchmarked against international prices, and if anyone says they could import at a cheaper rate than what is being sold by Dangote, then they were importing substandard products and in cohorts with international traders to distribute low-quality products to Nigerians.
Dangote also revealed that they had reduced their petrol selling price to ₦960/litre for ships and ₦990/litre for trucks after the NNPC had set the selling price for ships at ₦971/litre.
SSANU and NASU suspended the strike for a month
The Joint Action Committee (JAC) has announced that it would be suspending its indefinite strike for a month after a week of embarking on strike.
The Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) and the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) both went on strike to protest against the government’s refusal to pay their four-month withheld salaries.
However, starting Tuesday, November 5, both unions will suspend their strike for a month as the federal government has reached out to them and agreed to pay two out of the four months of debt owed to them. Therefore, the strike will no longer continue as part of their needs have been met.

The minister claimed that everyone listed in section 1 of the compensation list should receive their payments within 10 days.
“I wouldn’t have been able to respond if you had asked me this question earlier. But let me say clearly and emphatically that I’m quite frustrated with this situation. However, my hands are tied by the law. I understand that I’ve already lost some properties to arrangements like this,” he said.
