Kogi Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who was suspended from the Senate on March 6 for alleged gross misconduct and disruptive behavior over the rearrangement of seats, has again accused the Senate President of making inappropriate remarks toward her.

In an interview with the BBC, Akpoti-Uduaghan claimed that the misconduct allegations were a cover to silence her. She alleged that Senate President Godswill Akpabio frequently made sexual advances toward her, both inside and outside the Senate chamber, sometimes in the presence of other senators.

Recalling one instance, she said, “There was a time he remarked, ‘Natasha, your husband is really enjoying. It looks like you’d be able to make good movements with your waist.’”

Between Monday, March 17, and Sunday, March 23, seven vessels carrying imported petrol are scheduled to arrive at seaports along Nigeria’s coastline.

A document from the Nigerian Ports Authority revealed that these vessels will deliver 115,000 metric tonnes of petrol—equivalent to 154.22 million litres—through three seaports to boost fuel availability across the country.

While presenting the bill, Hon. Alabi stressed the need to protect domestic workers, who are among the most vulnerable workers in Nigeria.

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, in a newsletter, has revealed that the 12 governors elected under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will challenge the suspension of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara in court.

Makinde emphasised that, regardless of personal feelings or loyalties, it is important to uphold democracy. He described the suspension of the governor and the legislative arm as illegal.

“In my newsletter today, I talked about the need for right-thinking members of society to take a stand against the illegal suspension of elected officials in the executive and legislative arms of government as part of a state of emergency declared by the president in Rivers State,” the newsletter reads in part.

NCS uncover $193,000 hidden in yogurt boxes in Abuja airport

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has seized $193,000 (about ₦289.5 billion) hidden in a carton of yogurt at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

NCS spokesperson Abdullahi Maiwada revealed that the suspect arrived on Ethiopian Airlines Flight No. 951 from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Maiwada explained that the cash was discovered during a thorough baggage inspection, following credible intelligence received by the service.
