President Bola Tinubu restated his government’s dedication to fostering youth development.

Lassa fever kills doctor nearly 100 victims in two months, NCDC reveals

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) has raised concern over the Lassa disease outbreak that has caused 98 deaths this year, including a medical doctor.
The agency urged people to take preventive steps like keeping their surroundings clean, storing food in sealed containers, and blocking rodents from entering homes.
On Sunday, NCDC’s Director-General, Jide Idris, said the warning was necessary because the disease has a high death rate of 18.3% as of February 24 to March 2, 2025.
He explained that 98 deaths have been recorded in 14 states, including one health worker. So far, there have been 2,728 suspected cases and 535 confirmed infections.
Dangote and NNPCL in talks about a deal over Naira-For-Crude

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has announced that talks are underway to establish a new naira-for-crude agreement with local refineries.
This comes in response to reports that the previous naira-for-crude deal between NNPCL and local refiners had fallen through, sparking mixed reactions from marketers, industry stakeholders, and the public.
The agreement, which lasted only about six months, was said to have ended, raising concerns about a possible rise in petroleum product prices and further depreciation of the naira against the dollar.
Nigerian soldiers rescue 75 captured civilians from Sambisa forest

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have successfully rescued 75 civilians from Sambisa Forest in Borno State.
Speaking to journalists during the handover of the rescued individuals to the Borno State government in Maiduguri, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General W. Shaibu, shared details of the rescue. He stated that the group included seven adult men, 34 women, and 34 children.
Represented by the Deputy Theater Commander, Brigadier General A.L. Akpodu, the GOC explained that the rescue took place during a clearance operation carried out by the 21 Special Armored Brigade and the 199 Special Forces Battalion as part of Operation Desert Sanity IV in Sambisa Forest.

Under the new rates, the ‘Google One (100 GB)’ plan will rise from ₦950.00 to ₦1,900.00 per month.
