A pregnant woman and six other passengers were crushed to death in a multi-car crash on Monday.
The fatal accident occurred at Agbala Junction area of Ibadan in Egbeda Local Government area of Oyo State.
Three vehicles were said to be involved in the accident that occurred some minutes past 7am.
Confirming the report, Abiodun Akinlade, the Egbeda Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) said three people, including a woman died, but eyewitnesses insist there were six casualties.
“The accident happened around 7:30am on Ife‑Ibadan road at Agbala junction. It involved three vehicles, including Nissan Micra with number plate YNF 963 AA; a Toyota Sienna with number plate, XD 451 KAK, and a Volkswagen Audi with number plate, FST 452 BH.
“Among those injured included one male child, two female adults and one female child. Two male adults and one female adult died.”
The corpses were said to have been taken to Oluyoro Catholic Hospital at Apomu in Osun State.
