President Trump on Saturday said Sen. John McCain “let down” his party, the people of Arizona and “his best friend” by opposing the latest attempt to repeal and replace ObamaCare.
In a series of tweets on Saturday morning, Trump criticized McCain’s announced decision the he would vote in support of repealing the bill.
Trump alleged that McCain had been influenced in his decision by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer in his decision to oppose the bill co-authored by Sens. Bill Cassidy and Lindsey Graham.
“John McCain never had any intention of voting for this Bill, which his Governor loves. He campaigned on Repeal & Replace. Let Arizona down!,” Trump wrote.
“Arizona had a 116% increase in ObamaCare premiums last year, with deductibles very high. Chuck Schumer sold John McCain a bill of goods. Sad.
“Large Block Grants to States is a good thing to do. Better control & management. Great for Arizona. McCain let his best friend L.G. down!”
