At a rally in West Virginia yesterday, President Donald Trump praised West Virginia Governor Jim Justice’s decision to switch from Democrat to the Republican party, POLITICO reports.
Trump said, “Having Big Jim as a Republican is such an honor”, referring to the governor’s 6-foot-7 stature. “Gov. Justice did something else very important tonight: He showed the country that our agenda rises above left and right,” Trump added.
The governor said the president’s commitment to revitalizing coal in the state was part of the reasons he decided to make the switch to the Republican party.
“I can’t help you anymore being a Democrat governor,” Justice told the crowd. “So tomorrow, I will be changing my registration to Republican”.
