Off Twtter, his official documents bear the name Seyi Longe. A graduate of the University of Lagos, he works as a marketer at an Italian decor company. Known for his wit and down to earth nature on Twitter, Seyi is a lover of rap music who says he is coming out with a boom in the entertainment industry. Just before that though, Seyi laid it bare on his experiences on Twitter.

 

How did you get on Twitter?
Well, I had my Twitter account immediately it was introduced, but I didn’t know about it. I was still a local champion on Facebook. A friend eventually taught me how to go about it late 2009.

Who would you say is your favourite tweep?
I love all my followers, but they are some tweeps I can’t do without seeing them on my TL.  Tweeps like @SpeakYourMindd and @Hayjaybawa.

Is there any particular tweet you’ll never forget? Tell us about it.
Yes! When Wande Coal tweeted that “I’m not leaving mohits ooo”. I replied and said, “if you leave mohits, owu go hook you for neck like bow-tie.”

Have you had any embarrassing/memorable experience on Twitter? If yes, what happened?
When I had a twitfight with that short man, what’s his name sef..ermm ermm 2shot..

What are the downsides of being on Twitter?
It takes my time, damn! I wish I could go off Twitter for a week, but its kinda hard.

What are the upsides?
Having access to lot of information, meeting people – the cool and the dumb ones. It allows me to share my opinion.

Has Twitter gotten you more fans/friends?
Yes ooo! It increases every day. At least I get 10-15 new followers everyday.

Many tweeps say you have a controversial persona on Twitter. Is this true?
*scratches head* errmm I think so. Some people find my tweets funny, while some find my tweets offensive. I keep getting comments like, ‘u re too funny’,’ u re crazy’, ‘u re too rude’, ‘u re too vulgar’, bla bla bla.. ounpe KMT… It’s my account, so I can tweet whatever I like.

Describe your Twitter persona in three words.
Funny, crazy, shy.

Do you follow back readily? Why?
No! I have rules: 1. I don’t follow people with egg as avatar 2. I don’t follow people with 1000 tweets and below (why following them when they hardly tweet?). But sometimes, I go against my rules and follow people. It depends on my mood sha!

What would possibly make you close your Twitter account?
That one hard oooo…..I don’t think I will. Twitter keeps me busy when I’m bored but I do, it will be because something better than Twitter is introduced.
