United States President, Barack Obama, put a call through to outgoing President, Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday, April 1.
According to Presidential Spokesman/Media Adviser, Reuben Abati, the American President commended Jonathan for his statesmanship and for ensuring peaceful elections in the country.
Abati also revealed that the Presidents of South Africa, Cote d’Ivoire, Archbishop of Canterbury and others also called President Jonathan.
Meanwhile, Obama also spoke to President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari to commend him for his leadership during the election.
