One thing that is very common on Nigeria Twitter is the attention it brings on social issues, especially when there is a community of people who are readily open to sharing their thoughts and opinion on trending issues.
On Twitter today, Dr. Funmilayo is currently topping trends, and it surprisingly has nothing to do with an epic discovery in medicine. A female doctor, @bola_aseyan has called him out for allegedly abusing her (sexually and emotionally) adding that he raped her.
Dr. Funmilayo is a popular Twitter user who has something to say on any topic as he is known to share medical tips and even speak against rape and abuse. Most recently, he was at the face of the dragging between Twitter users, Tife, and Sansa.
Dear self righteous Dr Funmilayo, one without sin, is this you?
Time would not permit me to chronicle how vile, toxic and erratic you are when it comes to others here.
Guilty or not doesn’t change the fact that you are absolutely intolerant. pic.twitter.com/cSBNvTQBcj

The doctor accusing him, Bola Aseyan, stressed that Dr. Funmilayo has been sexually and emotionally abusing her for many years and she only decided to come out now because she can not take it anymore. Sharing her story on Twitter, many people have taken sides as some went further to analyse her story.
Why did that girl delete pictures from her media before dragging Dr Funmilayo?
You’ve been taking pictures in his house and tagging him to tweets on how you guys would have a baby in Canada.
Anytime a relationship goes out,you girls will come out to accuse guys of rape.

This Dr Funmilayo's accusation needs to be properly verified before dragging. I know many of you have been waiting for an opportunity but such accusations need proof. @I_F_E_A_N_Y_I did some research and found out the two were dating or flatmates for sometime. His side is needed. pic.twitter.com/OgTAWVFpxv

Many Twitter users drew attention to the fact that Bola had deleted pictures which showed her in the company of Dr. Funmilayo at his home. They pointed out that there seems to be some foul play even as they urged people to wait for the accused to say something about the allegations against him. Others however, stating that Dr. Funmilayo, having been an advocate against rape in the past, should be brought to justice if he is guilty.
I use God to beg our fellow medical doctors in my DM asking me not to tweet or let it go. Please and please, they won’t abuse your children. Pls don’t give me unsolicited advise. I didn’t press charges even though the cops here in the UK asked me to, don’t push it. ??

While many people urged Bola to press charges against the Doctor, she pointed out that she wouldn’t, on grounds that he may lose his license to practice medicine. Her points also went further to point out foul play in her story, according to people who shared that opinion.
