‘We will challenge Fayose’s ban appropriately’ – Fulani herdsmen

Following the recent ban placed on Fulani herdsmen in Ekiti state by the state governor, Ayodele Fayose, a former president of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders’ Association (MACBAN), on Monday said that the herdsmen have the right to move freely within Nigeria.

According to The Nation, Ardo, who is said to be a son-in-law of President Muhammadu Buhari, stated that Fulani leaders are considering filing a legal suit against the governor.

Ardo said: “He does not have the authority to ban cattle-grazing in Ekiti. Fulani will challenge it in court.

“He does not have any right to ban designated grazing areas in Ekiti; there are grazing areas all over Nigeria and those grazing areas are gazetted by the Federal Government.

“He does not have the right to say that Fulani cannot rear cattle through the forests; we are going to challenge this in court.

“We are only just hearing the news but very soon, we will challenge it appropriately.”

  1. perhaps president Buhari has gazetted the whole forest in Nigeria and hand them over to Fulani herdsmen without passing though national assembly and he may have promised them to influence the court judgement in their favour without minding the lives they have been destroying through out the federation
