Here are some stories from yesterday and others that unravelled while you slept – and are now buzzing this morning.

Entertainment RoundupDavido is everything a star should be in new photos

Just days after releasing the video to his latest single “How long” featuring international singer, Tinashe, a song which has been getting positive attention, Davido has warmed his way into the hearts of his fan (and maybe even won a few more) with this new magazine cover.

Shot by genius photographer, TY Bello for ThisDay Style, Davido exudes calmness and a surrendering to “cleansing” as TY Bello puts it when she shared the photos on her Instagram this Sunday. The photos uniquely showcased body art on the models and a splash of colours on Davido. He was styled by African menswear fashion label, Okunoren.

Recall that Davido made a comeback earlier in the month with the release of his 5-track EP, Son of Mercy, his first compilation effort since his Omo Baba Olowo album that dropped four years ago.

Beyonce and Nicki Minaj take on the crowd at Tidal’s not-for-profit concert

Music streaming app, Tidal held its TIDAL X: 1015 benefit concert at Barclays Center, Brooklyn over the weekend. The concert featured superstar artistes Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Lauryn Hill, Fetty Wap and more.

Some of the high points of the concert was Nicki Minaj’s blatant diss for America’s Republican presidential nominee, Donald Trump and his wife, Melania. Nicki Minaj, clad in a see-through black lace jumpsuit with matching panties and nipple patch, said to the crowd, “Cause Barack needed Michelle, bitch, and Bill needed a motherfucking Hillary, bitch. You better pray to God you don’t get stuck with a motherfucking Melania”.screenshot_2016-10-17-06-26-59

She thrilled the screaming audience when she twerked to Fetty Wap’s Trap Queen before the artiste casually strolled on to the stage to perform the rest of the song.

During her own performance, Beyonce admonished fans to go out and actively take part in the US elections next month. She said, “You remember Barack Obama, you made that happen, young people made that happen. We are not helpless, the fire is still burning, please go out and vote in November”. beyonce-tidal-1015-concert-pictures-october-2016-1beyonce-tidal-1015-concert-pictures-october-2016

All the proceeds from the TIDAL X:1015 concert will be going to the Robin Hood Foundation to fight poverty. The event was streamed live on the TIDAL website.

This Chicago magazine gives special recognition to 93 Days movie

The 52nd Chicago International Film Festival held last week and Chicago Magazine, in an article, listed five of the must-see films at the festival.

Steve Gukas’ 93 Days was the only African movie on that list and the short review on it fills us so much pride.

93 Days is the thrilling story about Ebola and the selfless fight by Nigerian doctors to curtail its spread when it was detected in Nigeria.

93 Days is still showing in Nigerian cinemas.
