A female trader, who sells plastics, was killed by an angry mob of Muslims youths in Kano on Thursday evening.

The unnamed female was decapitated for allegedly blaspheming Prophet Muhammad during a religious argument at Wambai market.

The victim, the report says, was of Igbo extraction and was with her husband when she was murdered.

The husband was said to have been saved by the prompt intervention of the police.

According to Sahara Reporters, the Public Relations Officer of the Kano Police Command, DSP Musa Magaji, confirmed the incident.

“At about 4 30 pm, there was a disagreement between the murdered woman and some traders bordering on religion.”

“The woman was said to have blasphemed Prophet Mohammed, which did not go down well with the mob.”
