Trump suffers first legislative defeat

by Dolapo Adelana

U.S. President, Donald Trump on Thursday failed to secure a vote to repeal ObamaCare.

Trump failed to strike a deal with the conservative House Freedom Caucus.

House leaders later cancelled its plan to vote on the repeal on Thursday night.

The inability of the White House to sway the conservatives will pose a stumbling block for Speaker Paul Ryan, who can afford to lose only 22 votes on the floor of the House.

The House Freedom Caucus, however have over 36 votes and are set to block the bill if they don’t get what they want.
