At the Eagle Square Abuja, venue of today’s presidential inauguration ceremony, newly sworn in Muhammadu Buhari delivered his inaugural speech.

It is was considerably well received, being equally brimming with hope as well as a shot of measured expectation.

I would like to thank president Goodluck Jonathan for his display of statesmanship in setting a precedence for us that has now made our people proud to be Nigerians.

I belong to everybody and I belong to nobody.

There will be no paying off old scores. The past is prologue

We can fix our problems

The federal executive under my watch will not seek to encroach on the duties and functions of the legislative and judicial arms.

Relations between Abuja and the states have to be clarified if they are to serve the country better.

My appeal to the media today- and this includes the social media- is to exercise its considerable powers with responsibility and patriotism

The Command centre will be relocated to Maidugri and remain until Boko Haram is completely subdued.

    Will President Buhari continue with the governance approach that keeps Nigeria a rich country full of poor people; where to be powerful or on the inside track is too often seen as being licensed to participate in the industrial-scale pilfering of public resources.…or hire and manage players willing and able to make governance about the people; their needs and aspirations….go….lightnigeria.wordpress.com
