2015: Jonathan picks Sambo as running mate

by Christian Oshie

President Goodluck Jonathan has named Vice President Namadi Sambo his running mate for the presidential election on February 14 next year.

The president made the announcement in the early hours of Thursday after accepting his endorsement by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as the party’s candidate for the election.

Announcing a running mate was a decision closely watched at the party’s national convention, with some speculating that Jonathan would go for someone different from Sambo, whom the president first named his vice in 2010.

In his acceptance speech, Jonathan said he will not fail Nigerians if re-elected.

Jonathan assured aggrieved members of the PDP that their grouses will be amicably resolved, and promised to win the war on corruption.

  1. Jonathan has already failed Nigerians .If this man has shame he should not think of re contesting, but here we are with empty promises of fighting corruption an embodiment of corruption.Just like God anointed David while Saul was on the throne in same way Nigerians are ready for Buhari presidency in 2015
