‘It’s not true’ | Chief of Army Staff says 105 soldiers weren’t lost to Boko Haram

Nigerian Army Boss. Tukur Buratai

Chief of Army staff, Lt. General Tukur Buratai has denied reports that about 105 soldiers have gone missing.

Earlier today, it was reported that 150 soldiers went missing after an attack by Boko Haram insurgents on the Nigerian troops.

The attack was said to have taken place on Wednesday, in Gudunbali, Borno State, after which the 157 Battalion of the Nigerian Army could not account for about 105 soldiers as well as their commanding officer.

The army chief however, revealed to Vanguard that the report is a figment of the imagination of the authors.

“It is not true that our soldiers are missing. The soldiers went on a mission for the Nigerian nation and they have since returned and joined their Battalions”.
