‎The Made In Nigeria (MIN) Project in Partnership with the Barack Obama American Corner ‎is pleased to announce the second edition of its conversation cafe. The Made In Nigeria (MIN) Project, is a proudly Nigerian initiative which celebrates the uniqueness of being Nigerian and inspires Nigerians towards nation buildin‎g.
This is the second edition of its conversation cafe’ series and this edition is themed “The Role of our youths in ‎Governance and Nation Building” – with focus on participation & influence.
According to the organisers, this event will be anchored by celebrity writer, and quintessential media entrepreneur Chude Jideonwo.
Speaking at a briefing to announce this event, The Executive Director of The Made In Nigeria Project, Adedeji Alebiosu, said “It’s with an enormity of excitement that we, The Made In Nigeria project in partnership with The Barack Obama American Corner, bring to you this imperative conversation Cafe themed: “The Role of our youths and social media in governance & nation building.”
It is rather unmistakable when I say we are in the Information Age, An age where the most powerful weapon and tool are one and the same in the form of information.
With the plethora of social media platforms being over flooded by youths, it rather impossible to hold a conversation about channeling media tools into the affairs of state governance and nation building, whilst omitting the youths.
It is on this rational premise that we urge youths and the general public to participate & join in this conversation at the Blue Room at the Barack Obama American Corner on14th May 2015 at exactly 11 am.”
On her part, Lois Ekeleme, The coordinator of BOAC ‎stated that, “The Barack Obama American Corner is partnering with the MIN Project to host a Conversation Cafe themed ‘ The role of our youths and social media in governance & Nation Building with a focus on their participation and influence.
The aim of this edition is to further engage ourselves on the role of New Media and how to fully harness the power of social media in today’s evolving world. It is important that we understand the power that comes with this platform and how to use it to our advantage.”
This event is exclusive and is strictly by invitation. For further inquiries and seat reservation(s), contact; info@madeinnigeri‎aproject.org.
