Ahead of Easter; Rivers, Ondo declare ‘we are holier than the Pope’ | The #YNaijaCover

Some Coronavirus-hit states like Lagos and Abuja have been in total lockdown to mitigate the spread of the novel coronavirus, an executive order by President Buhari which is now in its second week.

With the Easter approaching and celebration of Good Friday today, some states like Rivers, Ondo, and have temporarily lifted lockdown order to hold Easter services amidst the positive COVID-19 cases in their domain.

In some cases like Ekiti and Kaduna, the government says the decision is to allow residents stock up food, while Katsina relaxed its lockdown inspite of the death of its index case for Jumaat prayers.

This, surely, will reverse the gains that has been made by observing social distancing as we will see people in public spaces and making contact.

Anxiety has spiked on social media, and with the extension of the lockdown on the horizon, we will need to continue to play our part in flattening the curve.
