Nigeria’s first lady Aisha Buhari on Wednesday evening arrived in Washington DC, United States of America on a weeklong visit, according to Sahara Reporters.
According to sources at the Nigerian Embassy in Washington DC, Mrs. Buhari arrived on a British Airways flight from London.
Her visit is very intriguing because Ekiti state governor Ayodele Fayose has accused and alleged that Mrs. Buhari was involved in the infamous Halliburton scandal, and is the “Aisha Buhari” mentioned in related court documents.
However, few weeks after Fayose’s allegations reports emerged that the “Aisha Buhari” mentioned in the scandal was not the First Lady.
Governor Fayose has on several occasions dared Mrs. Buhari to travel to the US, stating she would be arrested on arrival.
Mrs. Buhari had dragged Governor Fayose to court.
Mrs. Buhari is expected during her visit to attend meetings at the George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. She will also be hosted by the United States Institute of Peace, in collaboration with Voice of America, and attend the 25th Anniversary celebration of Zumunta Association USA Inc.
