A victim of the Boko Haram attacks in the Northern recently demanded that the sect members must be made to account for their actions, which had caused economic hardship felt by many Nigerians.

Hauwa Tokwede, who is from the North but her husband is from Warri in Delta State, said its members had killed her mother, sister and kidnapped her husband’s younger brother, Solomon, in October 2012.

Tokwede said had she had a narrow escape from some members of the group who invaded her home. She left the North where her life and work was for safety.

She complained that the situation had not only ruined many lives and property, but had placed Nigeria on the global map as a terrorist nation.

Speaking to journalists in Enugu State, she expressed disappointment at the way the group broke into cells to release its arrested members from custody.

She insisted that justice must take its due course. “All the culprits should be brought to book in order to appease the affected persons whose loved ones lost their lives in the hands of the group,” she said.

On the ceasefire proclaimed by the Boko Haram sect recently, Tokwede said, “The declaration could be mere deceit by the group to buy time, preparatory to wreaking further havoc on the nation.”
