Nigerian troops ambush, kill Boko Haram insurgents in multiple operations

Troops of 118 Task Force Battalion, 8 Task Force Division, on Thursday, successfully ambushed Boko Haram terrorists at Gudumbali in the Northern art of Borno state.

The terrorists were crossing the region to another location with logistics materials before being intercepted by the soldiers at Garere Junction.

According to a statement signed by Colonel Sani Usman, the Director of Army Public Relations, during the operation, the troops killed 2 and wounded one of the Boko Haram terrorists.

The soldiers recovered two AK-47 and a G3 rifle in addition to 660 litres of Premium Motor Spirit and yards of military uniforms.

The troops also recovered a truck earlier stolen by the terrorists in Kangarwa.

In the same vein, troops of 1 Division Nigerian Army involved in Operation Sharan Daji, engaged armed bandits in Gobirawan Kwacha, Dansadau District of Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

Operation Sharan Daji was initiated by the Army to clear out the operations of cattle rustlers and armed bandits.

Col. Usman revealed that “during the encounter in the forest, the troops were able to kill 3 armed bandits and recovered 1 AK-47 rifle, 1 AK-47 magazine and 11 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition. Unfortunately, the bandits shot and damaged the troops’ vehicle.”

“However, none of the soldiers was injured.”
