Former Vice-President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar has reacted to ex-President Obasanjo’s 18-page-letter titled  “Before it is too late” which addressed President Jonathan.

Abubakar urged Nigeria’s leaders to focus mainly on Nigeria  and Nigerians. “Our priorities must be lasting solutions to unemployment, safety & security for all, vastly improving our failing education systems”, he said.

While recalling his relentless fight for the sustenance of Democracy in Nigeria, Atiku condemned the trouble of ‘Political godfather-ism’ which overtime has resulted into evil political succession which negatively affected growth of the nation.

Expressing his dissatisfaction in the leadership style of President Jonathan which he tagged as a ‘consistent failure’ on the areas of critical concern.

Alhaji Abubaker continued “That said, I have firmly fought for a democracy in Nigeria where the voters choose their future leaders, not political party bosses and godfathers.

If the President insists on destroying PDP and thinks his record of unemployment, violence, scandals is worthy, he is welcome to run again.

I am confident Nigerians can, and will exercise their democratic right to choose the leadership they desire in 2015”.
