Three teenagers including a 32-year-old man have appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates Court for raping a 14-year-old girl in Mile 12 area of Lagos state.
They now face charges ranging from defilement, sexual harassment to conspiracy.
The charge reads in part that:
“You, Femil Olusanya, 17; Jubril Yusuf, 16; Wale Oluwanifemi, 15; and Badejo Wale, 32, on May 30,2013, at about 6:30am at 19 Bisi Adelesi Street, Agility, Mile 12, Lagos, in Ikeja Magisterial District did conspire together to commit felony thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 401 of Criminal Law Vol 44 no 11 of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2011.”
Although they all pleaded not guilty to the charges, the Magistrate, E.B Daodu, ordered that the teenagers be imprisoned in Abeokuta Remand Home while Wale was remanded at Kirikiri Prison without the option of bail.

Meanwhile, the publication have drawn the attention of the state government as officials of the Office of the Public Defender, a department under the state’s Ministry of Justice, visited the victim’s home on Tuesday.
PUNCH Metro had reported on Monday that the victim’s family had decided not to pursue the case and had forgiven the victims.
However, officials of the OPD visited the victim’s home at 5 Dada Street, Mile 12, to evaluate the extent of injury the victim sustained.
Although the victim was not at home when the officials visited, the girl was brought to OPD office on Wednesday.
The Director, OPD, Mrs. Ola Rotimi, said the purpose of the visit was to investigate the matter.
She said, “The Attorney General told us to investigate the matter and forward a report to him and we have done just that. The Attorney General will know the next step to take.”
