It’s the second Sunday since the Big Brother Naija shine Your Eyes season premiered, and tonight fans and housemates got a first taste of the realest part of the show; the evictions. Sunday’s in the Big Brother Naija house are dreaded to say the least. Its a day when the show chips away at the contestants. but tonight, the show did more than chip away at contestants, it also replaced them with four new ones.
The Housemates that were up for possible eviction were, White Money, Beatrice, Yousef, Yerins and Nini. With this group, White Money, seemed like the only certainty, a certainty to stay, as he has, just in two weeks established a massive fan base. The rest, for the most part, were equally at risk of leaving. At the end of the night, Yerins, Nini and Beatrice were evicted, and Yousef and White Money were afforded another week in the House.
The House lost three of its contestants but gained four in return. In an interesting turn of events, Big Brother decided to add new Housemates to the House, for reasons undisclosed. To say the Housemates were unenthusiastic about this twist would be an understatement, as more competition literally just walked through the door. Not to mention, that just a week ago, they had to deal with the whole wild card debacle. For all the Housemates know, this could be another wild card situation, one that creates an aura of uncertainty and mistrust between all the characters.
The new Housemates that were added to the show were: Queen Mercy Okon, Michael Chukwuebuka Ngene, Gbolahan Ololade, also known as Kayvee, and Jumoke Zainab Adedoyin. Like the Housemates that came two weeks ago, these new Housemates also gave the vague response of bringing positive vibes to the show, and of course being real. They didn’t really promise anything unique, so expectations are low. Hopefully, they surprise the audience and bring in the energy, they promised to bring.
For Chinedu Okafor, its all about making an impact with words, creating a profound impression on the audience with the intended narrative.
