Last night, during the Big Brother Naija Sunday Live Eviction show, Big Brother put everyone on notice by evicting three Housemates, while introducing four new ones. It was a roller coaster of a night, as Housemates were thrust out of their comfort zone, and reminded that Big Brother runs the show as he sees fit.
The four new Housemates who made their debut on the show were; Queen Mercy Okon, Michael Chukwuebuka Ngene, Gbolahan Ololade, and Jumoke Zainab. While their entry in the House seemed to throw most of the Housemates off, it somehow energized one particular Housemate; Jackie B.
To be specific, Michael’s entry in the House seemed to pique Jackie B’s interest. She spent the whole night trying to get to know him. From having conversations with him in the dinning room to continuing said conversations on her be. For most of last night, she insisted on spending time with him to the point where it was glaring to everyone what she was doing.
The Housemates teased her, noting that Michael had barely settled in, and she is trying to start a ship with him. It was an interesting sight to see, considering that Jackie B, with the exception of her fight last week with Maria, is usually one of the more reserved Housemates. However, she was far from reserved last night with the new Housemate Michael.
The Lagos born, Satellite Town bred aspiring film maker and musician describes himself as a “A bad boy with magnetism,” and with the attention he got from Jackie B last night, we can’t even say he is wrong. Right off the bat, he seems charming, articulate, and fashionable, so it’s no surprise that some of the ladies in the House may find him attractive. But if that’s the case, maybe Jackie is moving a little too fast. Her being all over him certainly does not guarantee a ship sailing, and it won’t automatically make him attracted to her.
As we’ve seen, relationships in the Big Brother Naija House are an organic phenomenon, not forced, so in all honesty, if Jackie’s goal was to mark her territory with Michael, making the other ladies aware of her interest, then that goal has a higher likelihood of back firing, rather than working. But if her goal was just to be hospitable to the new Housemate and make him feel welcomed then, I guess she did an amazing job.
For Chinedu Okafor, its all about making an impact with words, creating a profound impression on the audience with the intended narrative.
