Update on the blogger who wrote about Governor Amosun’s wife

Blogger, Emmanuel Ojo has been arraigned before Ogun state magistrate court by the Ogun State Police Command for writing a false report against the first lady of the state, Olufunso Amosun.

He was arraigned on Tuesday on an eight count charge, which he pleaded not guilty.

He was accused of publishing a false news with intent to malign, cause hatred against Mrs Amosun, which was punishable under section 516 of criminal code cap 24 vol. 2 Laws of Ogun State of Nigeria, 2006.

Chief Magistrate Anthony Araba granted bail in the sum of 1 Million Naira with two sureties in the like sum.

Araba, however ruled that the two sureties must be residents within the jurisdiction of the court with landed properties.

He also ruled that the sureties should submit the documents of the landed properties with the court and must also show evidence of regular tax payment to the government.

However, YNaija learnt that after meeting the bail requirements, the judge refused to sign the bail bond of Ojo Emmanuel.

Ojo has reportedly been taken to remand prison.
