Boko Haram abducts 8 girls, take over checkpoints in Borno

According to online media platform, SaharaReporters, Boko Haram militants have allegedly abducted 8 teenage girls in Waranbe, Borno state.

The terrorists group have reportedly stepped up attacks in the state overnight, sacking police and army checkpoints in Gamboru Ngala and Shanni  near the Nigerian/Camerounian border.

The insurgents were reported to have also raided Waranbe village in Gwoza area of the state, taking over all the highways leading to there and according to the residents of the area who said the sect currently controls the entire area around Gwoza.
