Boko Haram: If anything happens to me, hold govt responsible – Salkida

International journalist, Ahmad Salkida, who has unfettered access to Boko Haram terrorists has said the Nigerian Army is trying to kill.

The army had declared Salkida wanted in August 2016 for his link to the terrorist group.

He was arrested on his arrival to Nigeria and released 24 hours later.

Salkida in a series of tweets said the army has refused to clear him.

He added that the army was also trying to kill him.

He wrote, “The refusal of the Nigerian Army to reverse the official slander when they declared me wanted on 14/8/16 is responsible for my plight today.

“Aftr I returned to Nigeria, the Military released me less than 24hrs without charge, but that in itself sparked a wide range hostility on me

“I’ve been denied bank account openings, I’ve been harassed severally by ppl that still think, I am a wanted person on the streets of Abuja

“I was refused the chance to bury my mother, two months ago in my hometown by the youths that still regard me as a wanted man wt links to BH.

“For those of you that condemn me online I don’t blame ur ignorance, you don’t expect me to announce the sacrifices I’v made over the yrs.

“Unlike many of you, I’m frm Borno, my family is in there, I have been affected by this conflict directly in ways you can’t even imagine.

“B/Haram gives me their videos, because I am probably the only reporter they knew writing about them keenly since 2005. Again, since 2005.

“Of course, I write on other things and on other aspects of this conflict, which many often ignore. Everyone pays attention to the scoops.

“I don’t produce or direct Boko Haram videos, I am merely the reporter that gets the scoops first, through my telegram or WhatsApp accounts.

“I will be glad to use scoops or break the stories of the Nigerian Army too if I have sources there. Every reporter wants scoops.

“I understand the conflict bcz 11yrs is not a small time to study any subject matter & I’v always shared that knowledge in tweets & articles.

“Today, I’m being sued by a faceless organizatn that even claimed I live in Sambisa. I have also been threatened by trolls and in real life.

“I urged the authorities, esp the Army to tell Nigerians and the world that I was cleared thru the same medium they used to ridicule me.

“If anything happens to me, for those of you that appreciate my role in resolving this crisis, I want you to hold Government responsible.”
