Tinubu may possibly emerge APC Board of Trustees Chairman

National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, may emerge as the chairman, Board of Trustees, of the party.

Vanguard reports that some party leaders are angling to make this come to fruition, in order to appease Tinubu, especially after his candidates for the Senate Presidency and Speakership, were defeated.

A party source revealed to Vanguard that in spite of the interest of former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, in the position, Tinubu is more likely to be elected to lead the party’s BoT.

The source was quoted to have said: “He is not likely to contest the position with anyone else. Many people want him for the office.”

It is however believed that some people within the party aren’t exactly pleased with the prospect of Tinubu becoming Board of Trustees Chairman, owing to his strained relationship with the trio of; National Chairman of the party, Chief John Oyegun, the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki and Speaker and House of Representatives, Barrister Yakubu Dogara.

The party is due for the constitution of its BoT on June 20, 2015 following last week’s rectification of the process by the party’s National Working Committee.
